Kinetic Energy Equals

Kinetic energy is one form of energy. The energy possessed due to the motion is called as kinetic energy. Any moving object has a kinetic energy. If the object moves faster then the object has high kinetic energy. A moving body should have a capable of doing the work due to this kinetic energy.

Measurements and Derivation of Kinetic Energy Equals:Measurements of kinetic energy:There are two ways for measuring the kinetic energy. The work should be calculated which is required by an external agent. This work can set the body into motion which is in the state of rest. The work which is done by the moving body against dissipative force prior it comes to rest should be calculated.

Derivation of kinetic energy:Assume a body has an initial mass m at rest and the initial velocity of the body is zero denoted as u="0." Now a constant external force is applied on the body at time t. In this interval the body will travel a distance denoted as s and it gains a velocity v.In this if a is an acceleration of body, then the Newton’s second law forms the equation as follows.F="ma"and also v2="u2+2as"

My forthcoming post is on Kinetic Energy Problems  and Equation for Kinetic Energy  will give you more understanding about Physics.

The distance moved by the body equals:v2="0+2as" or s="`(v^2)/(2a)`"Work done by external force equals the following equation, work W="ma`(v^2)/(2a)`" = `1/2` mv2= `1/2` mv2Therefore the kinetic energy K.E equals to `1/2` mv2Equation of Kinetic Energy:The kinetic energy is simply denoted as Ek which equals the equation asKinetic energy Ek="`1/2`" mv2Here m is the mass of the body with velocity v.

Is this topic physics problems  hard for you? Watch out for my coming posts.

The unit of mass m is in kg and unit of velocity v is in m/s. Hence the unit of the kinetic energy is Joule which is denoted as J.Example:1A volley ball of mass 0.2kg which is moving with a velocity 40m/s. Find the kinetic energy.Solution:Given,Mass m="0.2kg"Velocity v="40" m/sThen the kinetic energy="Ek=`1/2`" mv2= `1/2` `xx` 0.2 kg `xx` 402 m2/s2= 0.1 `xx` 1600 kg m/s2 `xx` m= 160 N m = 160 JKinetic energy equals to 160J.Example 2:The motion of the body m is 0.5 kg with a velocity v is 20 m/s. Find the kinetic energy of the body.Solution:Kinetic energy Ek = `1/2` mv2= `1/2` `xx` 0.5 kg `xx` 202 m2/s2= 0.25 `xx`400 kg m/s2 `xx` m= 100 N m = 100 JKinetic energy equals to 100 J.
