**Kinetic energy** is one form of energy. The energy possessed due to the motion is called as kinetic energy. Any moving object has a kinetic energy. If the object moves faster then the object has high kinetic energy. A moving body should have a capable of doing the work due to this kinetic energy.

Measurements and Derivation of Kinetic Energy Equals:Measurements of kinetic energy:There are two ways for measuring the kinetic energy.The work should be calculated which is required by an external agent. This work can set the body into motion which is in the state of rest.The work which is done by the moving body against dissipative force prior it comes to rest should be calculated.

Derivation of kinetic energy:Assume a body has an initial mass m at rest and the initial velocity of the body is zero denoted as u="0." Now a constant external force is applied on the body at time t. In this interval the body will travel a distance denoted as s and it gains a velocity v.In this if a is an acceleration of body, then the Newton’s second law forms the equation as follows.F="ma"and also v2="u2+2as"
